Privacy Policy

1. Controller of processing of personal data and scope of application

1.1.  VA ADVOGADOS, SP, RL, legal person no. 510122507 with registered office at Rua Joshua Benoliel, 6 – 7.º A, 1250-133 Lisboa (referred to below as “VA”) is the entity controlling the collection and processing of the personal data of the data subjects gathered by VA through the website at https://www.va.pt (the “Website”)and is intended to inform visitors to the Website (“Users”), under the terms and for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation, as complemented by Law 58/2019, of 8 August.

1.2.  Users should read this Privacy Policy carefully and decide freely whether they wish to furnish their personal data to VA, prior to sending it.

2. Personal data gathered, purposes, grounds for processing and storage period

Recruitment Form:

  • Personal Data: Full name, email address, telephone/mobile phone number and address
  • Purpose: Recruitment and selection of applicants
  • Grounds: Consent
  • Storage Period: 2 years as from date of collection

Contact Form:

  • Personal Data: Name and email address
  • Purpose: Sending of newsletters, publications, invitations to VA events and conferences or other relevant communications in the course of its business
  • Grounds: Legitimate interest
  • Storage Period: Until you unsubscribe

On expiry of the storage periods indicated above and except when VA is legally or contractually bound to store the User's personal data for a specific period, VA will delete or anonymise the personal data.

3. Users' rights

3.1.  Users are entitled to apply to VA for access to the personal data concerning them; for rectification or deletion of that data; for limitation of processing; to unsubscribe; and to data portability, under terms of the law governing the processing of personal data, as applicable, by using the following email address: geral@va.pt. Users also have the right to submit a complaint to the Supervisory Authority, which in Portugal is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.

3.2.  In order to exercise their rights, Users should in either case send a copy of documentary proof of their identity (if possible, other than a copy of their citizen's card).

4. Communication of personal data to third parties

4.1.  VA may have recourse to third parties for the provision of certain services, which in some situations may entail access by those providers to the personal data of users.

4.2.  In using third party services, VA undertakes to take the necessary and appropriate steps to ensure that they offer every assurance in the processing of Users' personal data, which shall be duly enshrined and safeguarded in the contract to be concluded, in writing, between VA and the service provider(s).

4.3.  VA does not transfer User's personal data outside the European Economic Area.

5.  Security

5.1.  VA hereby declares that it has implemented and will continue to implement security measures of a technical and organisational nature as necessary to ensure the security of the personal data furnished to it in order to avoid their alteration, loss, unauthorised processing and/or access, taking into account the state of the art, the nature of the data stored and the risks to which they are exposed.

5.2.  The personal data of Users are processed with the standard of protection required by law to ensure their security and avoid their alteration, loss unauthorised processing or access, taking into account the state of the art,

6. Cookies

6.1.  Cookies are text files which contain small amounts of information and which are downloaded and stored on the user's device, through the respective browser, when he or she visits a website.

6.2.  Cookies may be categorised in terms of the purpose they serve. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the functioning of the Website, whilst others gather statistical information for the purpose of analysing the use of the website and its performance, or are used to provide additional functions in the website or to store the visitor's browsing preferences, whenever he or she uses the same device. 6.3.  VA does not collect personal data under the terms of applicable legislation through the cookies used in the Website, insofar as they do not permit directly or indirectly VA or any other entity to identify the User.

6.4.  Users may always configure the devices and browsers they use to accept all or some cookies, to notify them whenever a cookie is issued, or to stop receiving cookies.

7. Changes to privacy policy

VA reserves the right to make adjustments or changes at any time to this Privacy Policy, which shall be duly published on the Website.
