This Briefing provides a summary of Joint Opinion 2/2026 adopted by the European Data Protection Board (“EDPB”) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (“EDPS”) on 10 February 2026 on the proposed Regulation aimed at simplifying the European Union’s digital legislative framework (“Digital Omnibus”), analysing the main amendments proposed to the GDPR, the EUDPR, the ePrivacy Directive and the Data Act, as well as their impact in terms of regulatory simplification, legal certainty and the protection of the fundamental rights of data subjects.
